DJ and producer, Mendi is part of a generation of artists with a wide range of influences, inspired by new club sounds such as amapiano, gqom, kuduro, afro-beat and miami bass.

Of Senegalese and Guinean origin – from which he draws his inspiration – Mendi grew up surrounded by music and quickly developed a keen ear for it. He set out to share and promote the music he loved, initially through playlists and compilations before setting up his own DJ project. He found his way into some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals, including Le Sucre in Lyon, Les Nuits Sonores and the Dengo Club in Lisbon.

When he moved to Montpellier in 2021, he joined the webradio Piñata and immediately released ‘Atabacada’, his first track on their Plaisance Records label.

In May 2023, he was invited to perform at a Boiler Room party in Marseille alongside Maraboutage, Charisse C, Blackboy DMD, Anaïs B and, of course, 1heure42, with whom he set up his own brand of party, CHÔ!

日本初の南アフリカ発ジャンルGQOM(ゴム)をメインとしたコレクティブー「TYO GQOM」の最年少メンバーとして所属。2022年にはアフリカ・ウガンダの最大フェスティバルNyege Nyege Festivalに出演を果たす。
パーカッシブサウンドを軸にして生み出すグルーヴの揺さぶり、UKベースミュージックの知識を基にしたプレイスタイルで人々を魅了するDJ。
Keep Hush Kyotoでの観客を沸かしたテクニカルかつ自身の世界観を表現したプレイも各方面から称賛を受けており、今後も活躍が期待される。
渋谷Enterにてパーカッシブサウンドと低音にフォーカスしたパーティー・Gravity Bongoのオーガナイズも務め、DJだけではない幅広い音楽活動をこなす。

Born in 1996. She mainly plays UK Funky, Gqom and across various genres all over the world.
She is the youngest member of TYO GQOM, a collective focusing on the South African music genre called Gqom in Japan and performed at the Nyege Nyege Festival in 2022.
She attracts people with her groove shaking based on percussive sounds based on UK bass sounds and has received praise from all quarters for her technical and personal world view that brought the audience at Keep Hush Kyoto.
She also organizes ”Gravity Bongo”, a party focusing on percussive sounds and bass at ENTER Shibuya.
