DJ and producer, Mendi is part of a generation of artists with a wide range of influences, inspired by new club sounds such as amapiano, gqom, kuduro, afro-beat and miami bass.

Of Senegalese and Guinean origin – from which he draws his inspiration – Mendi grew up surrounded by music and quickly developed a keen ear for it. He set out to share and promote the music he loved, initially through playlists and compilations before setting up his own DJ project. He found his way into some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals, including Le Sucre in Lyon, Les Nuits Sonores and the Dengo Club in Lisbon.

When he moved to Montpellier in 2021, he joined the webradio Piñata and immediately released ‘Atabacada’, his first track on their Plaisance Records label.

In May 2023, he was invited to perform at a Boiler Room party in Marseille alongside Maraboutage, Charisse C, Blackboy DMD, Anaïs B and, of course, 1heure42, with whom he set up his own brand of party, CHÔ!

1996年生まれ。イギリスの音楽とカルチャーに傾倒し、トライバルサウンドを軸に様々なジャンルを横断するプレイを得意とする。2018年5月末にはロンドンの気鋭レーベル〈Nervous Horizon〉の主催者であるTSVIとWallworkを自ら東京に招聘し、成功を収めた。現在は日本初の南アフリカ発ジャンルGQOM(ゴム)のパーティー・クルー「TYO GQOM」の最年少メンバーとして活躍。
